The RoadLink rider training programme is a structured, practical one-week course designed to produce confident, safe, and road-ready motorcycle riders. Whether you are training as an individual, part of a corporate group, or enrolled through a training institution, the programme covers everything you need to ride professionally and pass your licensing requirements. All training is delivered by qualified RoadLink trainers using motorcycles provided by RoadLink — no bike required on your part.

Rider Induction
A comprehensive introduction to the motorcycle, its components, pre-ride checks, and safe handling fundamentals before any practical riding begins.
Rider Assessment
Each learner is individually assessed at the start and end of the programme, ensuring every rider meets the required standard before certification.
Practical Motorcycle Riding Training
Hands-on riding instruction on RoadLink-provided motorcycles. From basic control and balance to confident urban riding — all under qualified trainer supervision.
Road Safety & Defensive Riding
Comprehensive road safety education covering traffic rules, hazard awareness, collision avoidance, and defensive riding principles for commercial delivery.
Licensing Preparation
Theory and practical preparation specifically aligned to South African motorcycle licensing requirements — giving every learner the best chance of passing first time.
Motorcycles Provided
All training is conducted on RoadLink motorcycles. Learners do not need to bring their own bike. Training materials and equipment are supplied throughout.
Motorcycle Licensing Support
Following completion of the training programme, RoadLink supports learners through the motorcycle licensing process. The licensing fee of R1,600 per learner covers the testing and processing required to obtain a valid South African motorcycle licence. This fee is indicative and may be affected by the licensing department used for testing and processing — final amounts will be confirmed during the enrolment process.

Whether riders are placed through our sourcing service or enrolled in the Roadlink Riders programme, all RoadLink-trained riders are expected to operate within the following parameters. These guidelines protect the rider, the motorcycle, and the businesses they serve.
Operating Hours
All RoadLink riders operate between 07:00 and 22:00. No commercial riding is permitted outside of these hours.
Operating Radius
A maximum operating radius of 7 kilometres from the rider's assigned work base applies to all commercial delivery operations.
Restrictions
No highway driving permitted. No private use of the motorcycle — to and from work base only.
Daily Rider Responsibilities
Daily inspection of oil levels, tyre pressure and mechanical condition. Puncture-related costs are for the rider's account; riders are responsible for general maintenance.
Tracking & Compliance
Geo-fencing with registered work and home zones. Speed violations are tracked and communicated to riders via GPS on the assigned motorcycle.
Maintenance Support
RoadLink assists in sourcing cost-effective maintenance. Every 5,000km service includes oil, spark plug, air filter, fuel filter, and drive belt if required. Tyres supplied and fitted at cost price.

For individuals who complete our training programme, the journey doesn't stop at certification. RoadLink offers a direct pathway from training into the Roadlink Riders rent-to-own programme — so you can go from your first riding lesson to owning your own motorcycle in as little as six months.
Enrol in the Training Programme
A valid motorcycle learner's licence is required before training begins.
Register for the RoadLink one-week rider training programme. If you don't yet have a learner's licence, we'll point you in the right direction. Training fee: R1,800 per learner.
Complete Your One-Week Training
Rider induction, practical riding, road safety and licensing prep — all delivered by qualified trainers.
Attend and complete the full one-week programme at your assigned training site. Motorcycles provided.
Obtain Your Motorcycle Licence
Licensing fee: R1,600 per learner, subject to licensing department.
With RoadLink's support, complete the licensing process through the relevant licensing department. Once licensed, you are a certified, road-legal motorcycle rider.
Enrol in Roadlink Riders — Rent-to-Own
A deposit of R1,500 is required, followed by a weekly payment of R550.
Following successful training and licensing, graduates are eligible to enrol in the Roadlink Riders rent-to-own programme. The lease period is 6 months.

Upon completion of the full 6-month lease period and all payment obligations, the rider takes full ownership of the motorcycle.

RoadLink has partnered with Level Up Training Institute to deliver motorcycle training and a lease-to-own programme for 54 learners enrolled in the Last-Mile Delivery Driver Programme across Krugersdorp and Vereeniging — demonstrating our capacity to manage large-scale, multi-site training operations.
