Roadlink Riders is RoadLink's individual rent-to-own programme — designed for riders who want to move beyond permanent rental and build toward owning their own motorcycle. Instead of paying week after week with nothing to show for it, every payment you make under Roadlink Riders brings you one step closer to full ownership.
The programme is structured around weekly payments, with plans starting from R550 per week depending on the model selected. Insurance and GPS tracking are included throughout your plan term — so you are protected from day one right through to the moment the bike becomes yours. Please note: scheduled maintenance and breakdown response are not included — riders are responsible for their own servicing.

Complete the Roadlink Riders application form online or in person at our Johannesburg office. You will need your valid motorcycle licence, proof of income, and South African ID — or, if you are a foreign national, your traffic register number and proof of an active delivery app profile. We review every application personally.
Get Approved
Fast, fair assessment. Feedback within a few business days.
Our team reviews your application and assesses your eligibility based on the qualifying criteria. We will contact you directly to discuss your plan options, weekly payment amount, and the bike models available to you based on your approved tier.
Sign Your Agreement
Clear terms. No hidden clauses. No surprises.
Once approved, you will sign a Roadlink Riders rent-to-own agreement outlining your weekly payment amount, plan term, the bike model, and the conditions of the programme. We walk you through every detail so you fully understand your commitment and your rights before you sign anything.

After your first weekly payment is made and your agreement is signed, you collect your bike and start riding. From this point, every weekly payment builds toward full ownership. Insurance and GPS tracking are active from day one. Please note: scheduled maintenance and breakdown response are the rider's responsibility throughout the term.

When your final weekly payment is made and all programme conditions are met, ownership of the motorcycle is formally transferred to you. No further payments. No ongoing rental. The bike belongs to you — free and clear. That is the Roadlink Riders promise.

Your bike is fully insured throughout the plan term. Accidental damage, theft, and third-party liability — all covered. No separate insurance policy required.
GPS Tracking
Your bike is GPS-tracked throughout the plan term. This supports recovery in the event of theft and forms part of the insurance coverage conditions.
Maintenance & Breakdown — Not Included
Scheduled maintenance and breakdown response are not included in the Roadlink Riders plan. Riders are responsible for their own servicing. RoadLink's Parts, Service & Repairs offering is available separately if you need support — speak to our team.

Roadlink Riders is open to South African citizens and qualifying foreign nationals.
Here is what you will need.
Valid Motorcycle Licence
A valid, current South African motorcycle licence (Code A or A1) is required before you can take delivery of a Roadlink Riders bike. If you do not yet have a licence, ask us about our Driver Training programme — we can help you get certified.
Proof of Income
Applicants must demonstrate a regular and verifiable source of income sufficient to meet the weekly payment commitment. This may include payslips, bank statements, or proof of earnings from a delivery platform or employer.
South African ID
A valid South African identity document (green ID book or smart ID card) is required for all South African citizen applicants. Your ID is used for identity verification and agreement documentation purposes.
Additional Criteria
All applicants must meet the above criteria. Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and approval is at the discretion of RoadLink Rentals.
Foreign Nationals — Additional Requirements
Roadlink Riders is open to qualifying foreign nationals working in South Africa. In addition to a valid motorcycle licence and proof of income, foreign national applicants are required to provide:
- A valid Traffic Register Number (TRN) — issued by the South African traffic authority for non-citizens operating vehicles in South Africa.
- An active, verified profile on a recognised delivery application — such as Uber Eats, Mr D Food, Bolt Food, or similar platforms. This serves as proof of active employment and income in the delivery sector.
